Your salary is also paid for vacation days and public holidays, so each hour you actually work earns more. Counting all 52 weeks gives €14.42; taking the days off into account gives €15.31.
Use your net salary. That is the money you actually have to spend, so it is the right measure for what a purchase costs you. See what a purchase costs in working hours
At 40 hours a week a month has 40 h × 4.33 weeks = 173.2 working hours. Paid days off lower that: with 37 days off a year (for example 28 vacation days and 9 public holidays) it is 148.7 hours.
Multiply the hourly wage by your working hours in a month. €15.00 an hour at 40 hours a week is €15.00 × 173.2 h = €2,598 a month.
Since 1 January 2026 the statutory minimum wage is €13.90 gross an hour, about €2,407 a month at 40 hours a week. On 1 January 2027 it rises to €14.60. It is a gross figure: to compare your pay with it, enter your gross salary in the calculator instead of your net one.
In 2026 a German mini-job may pay up to €603 a month. At the minimum wage of €13.90 that is at most €603 ÷ €13.90 = 43.4 hours a month, about 10 hours a week. Earn more per hour and the limit is reached in fewer hours.
The calculator above is the app’s own maths. In the app, your wishlist and your month’s spending are counted in hours too.
